Hi, I’m Aileen Romanowski.

I’m a journalist and storyteller focused on the tension between humans, animals and the environments we share, with a growing focus on ocean ecosystems and whale conservation.

I tell stories where conflict lives:
between protection and exploitation, tourism and ethics, humans and the wild.
My work is raw, observational and grounded in philosophical thinking. I’m not interested in simple answers or moral extremes, but in the uncomfortable space in between, where real understanding begins.

With a background in cultural studies and philosophy, I explore human-animal relationships beyond clichés, looking at responsibility, perception and the way we choose to coexist.Alongside my journalistic work, I collaborate with organizations, NGOs and companies working in conservation, tourism and sustainability. I help them communicate complex human-animal conflicts in a way that feels real, credible and grounded, especially in the context of marine environments and wildlife.

Hi, ich bin Aileen Romanowski.

Ich bin Journalistin und Storytellerin mit Fokus auf die Spannungsfelder zwischen Mensch, Tier und Umwelt, mit wachsendem Schwerpunkt auf Ozeanökosysteme und Walschutz.

Ich erzähle Geschichten dort, wo Konflikte entstehen:zwischen Schutz und Nutzung, Tourismus und Ethik, Mensch und Wildnis.
Meine Arbeit ist roh, beobachtend und philosophisch geprägt. Mich interessieren keine einfachen Antworten, sondern die unbequemen Zwischenräume, in denen echtes Verständnis entsteht.

Mit einem Hintergrund in Kulturwissenschaften und Philosophie beschäftige ich mich seit Jahren mit der Beziehung zwischen Mensch und Tier jenseits von Klischees, mit Fragen nach Verantwortung, Wahrnehmung und Zusammenleben. Neben meiner journalistischen Arbeit arbeite ich mit Organisationen, NGOs und Unternehmen aus den Bereichen Naturschutz, Tourismus und Nachhaltigkeit. Ich unterstütze sie dabei, komplexe Mensch-Tier-Konflikte glaubwürdig und nahbar zu kommunizieren, insbesondere im Kontext von marinen Ökosystemen und Wildtieren.
