Hi, I’m Aileen Romanowski.
I work as a journalist, enjoy taking photos, and studied cultural studies with a focus on philosophy in Berlin.

I write about animals, wilderness and the spaces in between, where humans and nature meet. My stories are raw, honest and philosophical, because I believe our relationship with the natural world is ultimately a matter of attitude.

Born in 1989 in Berlin-Mitte, I grew up between city life and the countryside, shaped by contrasts, wild edges and a deep fascination with lives we tend to overlook. I’ve always been drawn to animals, untamed places and the contradictions of being human. I feel most at home outdoors hiking, observing and getting lost in thought.

With a philosophical and academic background in cultural studies, I’ve spent years exploring the complex relationship between humans and animals. My aim is to tell stories that seek understanding rather than judgment, stories that consider both perspectives, human and animal alike. I approach each topic with a neutral, non-dogmatic attitude, avoiding radical positions in favor of reflective, multi-layered insights. I believe that empathy and clarity can open up new ways of seeing the everyday coexistence between species.

Alongside my journalistic work, I advise organizations, NGOs, and companies on questions of animal ethics, sustainability, and communication. I support companies and organizations in communicating sustainability with authenticity and credibility.
Focus: CSR, marine conservation, biodiversity, environmental ethics, sustainable strategies & storytelling.
My approach combines cultural perspective, ethical reflection, and clear communication for greater impact and authenticity in the environmental sector.

I see myself as a mediator between animals and the public, organizations or companies.

Hi, ich bin Aileen Romanowski.
Ich arbeite als Journalistin, fotografiere gerne und habe Kulturwissenschaften mit Schwerpunkt Philosophie in Berlin studiert.

Ich schreibe über Tiere, Wildnis und jene Zwischenräume, in denen sich Mensch und Natur begegnen. Meine Geschichten sind roh, ehrlich und philosophisch, denn ich bin überzeugt: Unsere Beziehung zur Natur ist letztlich eine Frage der Haltung.

Geboren 1989 in Berlin-Mitte, bin ich zwischen Stadt und Land aufgewachsen, geprägt von Gegensätzen, wilden Rändern und einer tiefen Faszination für das übersehene Leben. Tiere, ungezähmte Orte und menschliche Widersprüche haben mich schon immer angezogen. Ich fühle mich draußen am wohlsten wandernd, beobachtend und gedanklich abschweifend.

Mit einem philosophischen und wissenschaftlichen Hintergrund in Kulturwissenschaften habe ich mich über Jahre hinweg intensiv mit dem Mensch-Tier-Verhältnis beschäftigt. Mein Ziel ist es, Geschichten zu erzählen, die nicht urteilen, sondern verstehen wollen. Ich möchte beide Perspektiven sichtbar machen die des Menschen und die des Tieres. Dabei arbeite ich bewusst neutral, nicht dogmatisch und ohne radikale Haltung. Für mich stehen Reflexion, Empathie und ein offener Blick auf die tägliche Koexistenz im Mittelpunkt.

Neben meiner journalistischen Arbeit berate ich Organisationen, NGOs und Unternehmen zu Fragen der Tierethik, Nachhaltigkeit und Kommunikation. Ich unterstütze Unternehmen und Organisationen dabei, Nachhaltigkeit glaubwürdig zu kommunizieren.
Fokus: CSR, Meeresschutz, Biodiversität, Umweltethik, nachhaltige Strategien & Storytelling.
Mein Ansatz verbindet kulturelle Perspektive, ethisches Denken und klare Kommunikation für mehr Wirkung und Authentizität im Umweltsektor.

Ich verstehe mich als Vermittlerin zwischen Tieren und der Öffentlichkeit, Organisationen oder Unternehmen.
